Framingham, MA November 12, 2015 - The best and brightest of Boston’s radio and television media converged at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Center for the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association Sound Bites 2015, a day of meeting, mingling and seminars from the RAB and TVB.

The keynote address by Greater Media Chairman and CEO Peter Smyth led to the award ceremony for the best of the best in Massachusetts radio and broadcast television.

This year’s Broadcaster of the Year – Candy O’Terry!  

The award recognizes her outstanding commitment and unwavering dedication to the evolution of broadcasting, that she breathes life into her work by being creative and enthusiastic and above all, is committed to the community.

Candy O has a storybook career.  Working her way up from secretary to morning show co-host and endearing her to millions of WMJX-FM listeners over the years she decided to pursue her other passions of singing, writing, television and charity work.  Candy cofounded Boston Women in Media & Entertainment whose mission is to connect, educate and inspire.  She is also the lead judge for the Emmy Award winning TV talent show, Community Auditions.  Candy also created Exceptional Women, the most successful public affairs program on commercial radio in the nation, winner of 43 local and national awards for excellence in women’s programming.  

The award also cites Candy’s tireless charity work with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and with Lucy’s Love Bus, a charity that provides comfort and quality of life to pediatric cancer patients.
